Hidden in West Vancouver, this front yard is transformed into a landscape imitating the local river banks with thoughtful plant considerations. Boulders were selected to match the granite of the North Shore, and intentionally placed to create a hide-and-reveal for the plantings as you walk towards the entrance. Anticipating the drier climate, a palette of perennials, shrubs, and small trees were selected to withstand the heat, the drought, and the downpour that is common in West Vancouver. With a tight budget in-mind, the minimal intervention was used to create an down-to-earth statement.
